Magnets
Drum-in-Housing Magnets
Drum-in-Housing magnets perform ferrous metal removal from free flowing dry bulk material. The design of the drum magnet
allows for continuous cleaning of the magnet system.
The product being processed enters the housing and flows across the drum. As the product flows the outer shell rotates around the magnet material which remains
stationary. All non magnetic product falls in the metal free zone, all magnetic material remains on the drum until it is moved past the magnetic field and is released into the metal collection area.
For specific applications please contact the factory. |

Pneumatic Line Separator Magnets
Pneumatic separator magnets serve a few different functions. They enhance product purity,
provide continuous protection of the processing machinery, and
provide unimpeded product flow while performing continuous tramp metal removal. They are available to fit in any pneumatic systems. The type of magnet used in the application is based on the consistency of the material being processed.
Rocket Magnet
The rocket magnet is generally used
between the processing equipment and bulk load out. It is used in applications for the
processing of powder & granular, flour,
chemical, plastic, pharmaceutical and mineral materials.
The rocket magnet has an aerodynamically shaped cone diverter to allow the material to flow through while maintaining uniform velocity in the line, which allows it to be used anywhere in the pneumatic line.
Exposed Pole In-Line Tube Magnet
The tube magnet is used in applications including the processing of
pelletized foods, feed or grain where degradation is a concern, fibrous products, or products which have a higher moisture content. |
Liquid Line T-Trap Magnets
T-Trap magnets are designed to remove ferrous contamination out of liquid to semi liquid flow
Applications. There are two separate styles of magnets that perform this function, plate style and tube style.
The plate style is used for very viscous type products. Products that might bridge if run through the tube style magnet.
The tube style is used for free flowing, less viscous products.
The tube style is bolted to the top of the T assembly. To clean, simply remove the tube assembly wipe the tubes clean and replace.
Both styles are available in several different line sizes ranging from
1/2” to 24” in diameter. |

Hump Magnets
The hump magnet is a series of two plate magnets placed into a housing. The housing is designed so the plate magnets are always on the under side of the product flow. The product enters the housing, cascades over the first plate magnet then changes direction and flows over the second plate magnet. This design allows for the tramp metal to be in the magnetic zone due to the placement of the magnets in the housing.
Cleaning is easy. The magnets are hinged on one side; they swing open and wipe off. The magnets can also have a stripper faceplate, which allows for easy- clean or self-cleaning designs. |
Wedge in Chute Magnet
The Wedge in Chute Magnet allows for superior separation of material in free flowing or choke fed vertical flow applications. The product enters the wedge in chute housing which divides the flow into two separate chambers on either side of the chute. Each chamber has extra heavy duty magnets on the inside and outside of the flow, which separates and holds onto the targeted tramp metal until cleaned by the easy pull drawer.
The wedge in chute magnet is available in both easy manual clean and self cleaning versions. It is also available
with ceramic or rare earth magnet material. |

Magnetic Pulleys
Magnetic Pulleys are permanent
magnets used in conveying applications to remove ferrous tramp metal and protect down stream equipment as well as improve product purity. They also provide tramp metal removal with continuous cleaning of the magnet.
MSI produces a wide range of pulley magnets in a variety of sizes and strengths to meet your application needs.
Pulley magnets are typically used for rubber (tire) and waste recycling, wood, food, feed, grain, and the aggregate or mining industries.
This application is used for ferrous metal removed from small or large conveyor belts. |
