MSI has designed an adjustable sheet fanner so it can be tuned in to exactly the required power needed for your application. More is not always better. When fanning blanks in an automated application, too much strength can slow down the cycle time or cause undue stress on the robot.

Electromagnet sheet fanners are used in automated applications where the magnets are turned off during each cycle or turned off to change the stack of blanks.

Air Actuated Permanent Manipulator Magnets

MSI engineers and builds permanent magnets specially designed for use on manipulators. The magnets are designed to be light weight in order to keep the weight requirements of the manipulator down to a minimum to reduce the costs of the manipulator. The magnets utilize rare earth magnetic material to create a super strong magnetic circuit. The permanent magnet offers several advantages over the electromagnets. The first is that it can be build with less weight, there is much more flexibility in the magnetic circuits that can be utilized and there is positive hold on the part even during a power outage or cycle shut down. The magnet is designed to utilize an air cylinder to create an air gap between the part and the magnet, which releases the part.
